July 1 - July 2, 2004 (Chicago)

Lion President and Lion Bina Arora visited Lions Club International Headquarter, Oak Brook, IL and talked to different officers about the club activities. Lion Krishan Arora talked to Miss P. Mohr about recruiting Leos and properly chartering Leo Club. Also took some pictures and visited their club supplies shop.

July 5 - July 9, 2004

President Lion Krishan Arora and Lion Bina Arora attended Lions Club International Convention in Detroit, Michigan / Windsor, ON Canada.
First day was registeration of the delegates and fellowship with other Lion members of the world. All delegates received Certificate of Attendance and toured the Cobo Convention Center.

On July 6th Our President Lion Krishan Arora and Lion Bina Arora participated in the International Parade with Texas Lions wearing Texas Ranger uniform and hat. All Texas Lions were carrying Jimmy Ross plaque to support our Second Vice President.
In the afternoon International Cultural show was organized most of the perofrmances were given by Indian Lions Club members. It was really appreciated by the all the attnddees. Indian Classical dance and Lord Krishan's life was presented by India's group

July 18, 2004

Our first Board and G.B. meeting of this year was held and Lion President had good idea to start meeting in time and to increase membership. He gave surprise gift to Lion Vinoda Kumar as she was first to arrive and second gift was given to Lion Najam Bhora (Director) as he broght a prospective member with him. Even the prosective member was given a gift and behind the camera Lion Bina Arora was ready to record the occasion.
July 24, 2004

Lion Krishan Arora attended Fund-Raisinig event of AID (Association Of India Development). To raise the fund the association organized different cricket matches. The cricket matches were held in Grand Prairie and in Irving.

July 28, 2004 Our District Governor Bob Mitchell and Past District Governor Ed Stebbins met at Pasand Restaurant to discuss the venue and agenda for the District Convention 2005. Our club members were also present during this meeting. Lion Maulesh Tripathi, Lion Krishan Arora, Lion Neelam Khullar, Lion Sunder Khullar, Lion Dr. Rajendra Gandhi attended the meeting and shared their views.

July 31, 2004 Lion Maulesh Tripathi (Zone Chair) and Lion Krishan Arora (President) attended First Cabinet Meeting and Officer's training at First Baptist Church, The Colony.

August 2004



On August 2, Lion Ed Stebbins and Lion Krishan Arora checked the feasibilty to have convention at La Quinta Inn near Six Flag and discussed with Banuet Manager. This facility is easily accessible from High 360 and I-30 and have large Conference room to accommodate more than 500 members. This two days convention will be on May 6 and May 7, 2005. This is first time in our club history that our club has the opportunity to host District Convention. First day of the convention will be "Festival of India" and the Conference will have Indian Decoration and Indian cultural program.

SHARE SUCCESS THROUGH PUBLIC RELATION is one of the key program of International President Clement F. Kusiak.

SHARE SUCCESS THROUGH MEMBERSHIP GROWTH is second most important program of the present International President. We are expanding our public image by SHARING our SUCCESS through media like internet, having exposer to Asian community during Anand Bazaar on August 7, 2004. More than 15,000 people expecting to visit on this Day to Celebrate India Independence Day. All members of our club are supporting and contributing their services together to increase our membership. We will be inviting new members in our club meeting. This is our biggest MEMBERSHIP DRIVE in eleven years. during this event. We will have Audio-Video activities presentation.

August 12, 2004

Lion Sunder Khullar and Lion Krishan Arora visited some Indian shopowners and bussinesses and received advertisements for our Annual Fund-Raising event. It is a team effort and our Lion members are donating their time to raise fund and help different charities. This year Lion Nirmal Nilvi is our Fund Raising Chairperson and hope to surpass all previous year record.

August 17, 2004 Lion Meera Kaushik is helping Salvation Army Eye clinic for many years and she is also helping Arlington Memorial Hospital eye clinic. She needs more volunteers for this project. Members and non-members who are interested in this services please contact LIon Meera Kashik or Lion Krishan Arora. The services are required on every Thursday in Fort Worth and once in a month in the evening in Arlington Memorial Hospital. We are also collected used glasses. A PAIR OF USED GLASSES CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE OF A NEEDY PERSON. The Salvation Army Eye Clinic timings are from 8:30:00 am to 12:00Noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at 1855 E. August 18, 2004

Our President Lion Krishan Arora is going to speak at Haltom-Watauga Noon Lions Club about Asian-Indian in America. Lion Don Summerour, President invites our club members to attend this meeting at Oscar's Mexican, Restaurant, 3400 Denton Highway, Haltom City. Bavani Ramnan, Volunteer of "The Art of Living Foundation" will be visiting this club. She will talk about community services and stress management through Yoga. Governor Barry Beeson visited the DFW Indian Lions Club on October 15th. He encouraged us all to actively look for new members and motivate new members to actively participate in club activities and recruit for club positions.
September 2004

Sepetber 11, 2004 Our 11th Annual Banquet and Fund Raising event on Saturday, at 6:00pm. Place: Pantego Lions Club Center, 3535 Marathon Street, Pantego/Arlington, TX 76013. There will be Dinner, Entertainment, Auction and Scholarships will be distributed.

Sepember 16, 2004 Lion Krishan Arora is helping Salvation Army Eye Clinic at 8:30 am on Sepember 16, 2004 and all Lions members can join this service. Call Mary Schimmoler at 817-870-2803 to make schedule for this day. Perventing blindness is Lions Club International's main service project which helps the needy people through out the world. COME AND JOIN IN THIS PROJECT.

The Arlington DFW Indian Lions Club celebrated their 10th anniversary with an annual banquet and fund raiser on September 13th at Pantego Lions club center. PDG Bill McCarty, Lion Ann McCarty, PDG Rick Stoorza, Lion Jennifer, Region Chair Margie and Lion Skip Nuss and Leo Chair Kat Polly graced the occasion with their presence. Keynote speaker was Ft. Worth's Police Chief, Ralph Mendoza, Keynote address emphasized good citizenship which Lionism symbolizes by each doing their part to make our community a safe and better place. Other highlights included auction items and presentation of scholarships. Auction was conducted by PDG Rick Stoorza. Raffle prizes were given away by IPDG Bill McCarty. Scholarship awards were given away to seven worthy recipients by Chief Mendoza. Leo Chair Kat Polley inducted eight Leos to new Arlington DFW Indian Leo Club. Service with Enthusiasm will be focus of this new club. Entertainment was provided by Aradhana School of Dance. Entertainment was arranged by our new club member Harshika Bhatt. This was followed by dinner. Many thanks to all dignitaries who attended the event and making it a success.
